The Portland Reading Foundation presents its 2009 Fall Garden Tour, our annual fundraiser. This year, tour a fabulous assortment of six
NE Portland gardens--a traditional cottage garden, a delightful mixture of garden art and plants, a double lot garden with lot of unusual plants and much more!!
All proceeds go to hire experienced reading tutors for 1st and 2nd garde children having major reading problems in Portland Public Schools. IF we catch them early, we an make a huge difference in their lifetime reading ability.
The tour provides many gardening ideas. It's a self-guided tour, tickets are $20 each. For an additional $10, Garden Fever will also be hosting a pre-tour continental breakfast and lecture by Lucy Hardiman. Maps, Addresses and Descriptions of the Gardens will be available after Labor Day at the following locations:
